Our professionally trained and experienced scientific researchers.

Jarrow Formulas' Scientific Panel is comprised of one core members who are professionally trained and have wide experience in scientific research and nutrition. The panel ensures the scientific integrity of the Jarrow products by providing guidance on product research and development. It also ensures that Jarrow Formulas remains up-to-date on the latest emerging science. It supports internal and external education on nutrition and science while it closely monitors FDA and FTC regulations to ensure consumer safety and regulatory compliance of products.

Scientific Panel Members

Thomas A. Bowman, PhD earned his B.A. with a dual major in Biology and Chemistry from Warren Wilson College, his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine (clinical focus on diabetic limb salvage, sports medicine, and biomechanics), and his Ph.D. in biomedical sciences from the University of Toledo with a concentration in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship, NIH funded by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK), in the obesity metabolism laboratory at the Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging at Tufts University, in Boston, utilizing mice to study fat metabolism effects on insulin-glucose, bile acids, the gut microbiome, fat-soluble vitamins, and incretin hormones.
